Basketball Game Preview: McFarland Cougars vs. Delano Tigers

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the McFarland Cougars take on the Delano Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday... Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with McFarland sitting on nine straight victories and Delano on three.

Last Thursday, McFarland beat Kennedy 71-62. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 464th, while the Thunderbirds are ranked 975th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Delano posted their closest win since February 13, 2024 on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Chavez 52-49.

McFarland has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Delano, their win bumped their record up to 4-9.

McFarland didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Delano in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 71-67 victory. Will McFarland repeat their success, or does Delano have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
