Baseball Recap: East Ridge Takes a Loss

East Ridge lost against Chattanooga Central on Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. East Ridge fell 7-4 to Chattanooga Central. The Pioneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Payton Johnson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole five bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Dylan Owens was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

East Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7-1. As for Chattanooga Central, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. East Ridge will take on Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Chattanooga Central, they will take on The Villages Charter in a tournament on Wednesday. Chattanooga Central's pitchers better be ready for this one: The Villages Charter has averaged an impressive 10.2 runs per game this season.
