It was a good run, but Sandy unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against the Central Catholic Rams, falling 15-3. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Pioneers, who until this game were averaging three runs allowed.

Sandy saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ashton Culp, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. That double was Culp's first of the season.

Sandy's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 14-3. As for Central Catholic, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-4-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Sandy is set to take on their familiar foe Gresham at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Central Catholic will face off against rival David Douglas on Tuesday.
