Volleyball Recap: Ritenour Huskies vs. Affton Cougars

Ritenour was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Affton Cougars. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Huskies of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Ritenour took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-8, 25-12, 25-14.

Jordan Teoli paced Ritenour's offense, picking up four kills. Teoli got some help from Vince Dungo and his eight assists.

Affton found their leader in sophomore Nathan Meyers, who had 21 digs and four assists. Meyers is on a roll when it comes to digs, as he's now had ten or more in each of the last nine games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Kruse, who had five digs and three aces.

Ritenour's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12-1. As for Affton, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-16-1.

Ritenour didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Hazelwood West on the 30th. As for Affton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Parkway Central on the 29th.
