Recap: Hughes Lions vs. Jellico Blue Devils
The Hughes Lions had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They took down Jellico 77-62 on Wednesday. Hughes' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Several Blue Devils players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Isaac Mcnealy, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Mcnealy is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of John Zecchini, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds.
Hughes has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. As for Jellico, their loss dropped their record down to 20-12.
Hughes' road trip will continue as they head out to face Gordonsville on March 15th. Gordonsville is on a four-game streak of home wins, Hughes a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Jellico does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
