Softball Recap: Cimarron Makes It Five in a Row at Home

There's no place like home for Cimarron, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Colby Eagles on Tuesday, sneaking past 13-12. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bluejays have posted since March 31st.

The team relied heavily on Evan Vath, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-5. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Audrey Stewart, who went 2-for-4 with three runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Cimarron kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in seven consecutive contests.

Cimarron's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 7.4 runs. As for Colby, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 12-5.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Cimarron beat the Eagles by a score of 4-3 later that day.
