Basketball Game Preview: Wallowa Cougars vs. Union Bobcats

Wallowa is 0-3 against Union since December of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Wallowa Cougars take on the Union Bobcats at 6:00 p.m.

Last Friday, Wallowa took a blow against Elgin, falling 42-15. The game marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Union came tearing into Friday's matchup with 11 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 55-36 victory over the Badgers. 55 seems to be a good number for the Bobcats as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

Union's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-1. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.5 points per game. As for Wallowa, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.

Wallowa came up short against Union in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 43-33. Can Wallowa avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
