Basketball Recap: Memorial Makes It Seven in a Row at Home

Memorial extended their home winning streak to seven games thanks to a huge performance from Josue Rodriguez. The Memorial Red Devils simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Southern Indians 81-49 thanks to Rodriguez, who dropped a double-double with 34 points and 11 rebounds. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024.

Another player making a difference was Jared Colon, who put up 15 points along with six assists and six boards. The matchup was his third in a row with at least 15 points.

Memorial is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 76.6 points over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Southern and nudges their season record down to 9-14.

Coming up, Memorial will venture away from home to face off against Columbiana at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Columbiana's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven games. Southern does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
