Baseball Game Preview: Carbondale Terriers vs. Herrin Tigers

The Carbondale Terriers will head out to challenge the Herrin Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Things were looking good for Carbondale after they put the first run on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of Harrisburg by a score of 7-6. The loss continues a trend for the Terriers in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Herrin duked it out with Carterville on Tuesday. The Tigers fell 5-2 to the Lions. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Herrin saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Carter McCree, who went 1-for-3 with one run. Kyrese Lukens also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Carbondale's record is now 10-7. As for Herrin, their record now sits at 8-12.
