Basketball Recap: Mustang Piles Up the Points Against Yukon

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Mustang's strategy against Yukon on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Mustang Broncos blew the Yukon Millers out of the water with a 75-33 final score. The Broncos have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 24 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Cherish Haywood, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 13 points in addition to eight rebounds and five assists. Mya Alston was another key player, going 6 for 13 en route to 13 points and three steals.

Mustang smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in 13 consecutive contests.

Despite the loss, Yukon still got an impressive performance from Ashley Cox, who posted ten points.

Mustang's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Yukon, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mustang will head out to take on Norman North at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Yukon, they will face off against Grant at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
