Basketball Recap: Falfurrias Comes Up Short

Falfurrias was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 19th straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by the John Paul II Centurions 55-23.

Ella Garcia was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 12 steals for John Paul II. The contest was Garcia's third in a row with at least ten points. Camora Coleman was another key player, putting up four points and five steals.

Falfurrias' defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for John Paul II, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-8.

Falfurrias will head out to square off against Orange Grove at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for John Paul II, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 34-24 win against Agua Dulce on the 14th.
