Softball Recap: George Rogers Clark Takes a Loss

If George Rogers Clark was riding high fresh off their 12-0 takedown of Lincoln County on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cardinals took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Montgomery County Indians on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Indians this season, with their most recent loss being a 11-6 defeat last Tuesday.

George Rogers Clark has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 21-10 record this season. As for Montgomery County, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

George Rogers Clark will be playing at home against Henry Clay at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Devils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.14 runs per game on average), something the Cardinals will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Montgomery County, they will head out to square off against Franklin County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Flyers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Indians surely won't give up without a fight.
