Basketball Recap: Etowah Starts Season with Victory at Home + How To Watch

Etowah gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Woodstock Wolverines by a score of 44-37. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Wolverines: they've now won three in a row.

Etowah got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Savannah Aparicio out in front who shot 45% from the field to rack up 18 points and six boards. That's the most points Aparicio has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jaiden Graham, who earned 12 points and six rebounds.

Etowah was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Woodstock only posted five.

When it comes to explaining why Woodstock lost, don't look at Emily Jacobs. Despite the final result, she went 5-for-12 on her way to 14 points and seven boards. Morghan Slater was another key player, putting up 13 points and seven rebounds.

Looking ahead, Etowah will be playing in front of their home fans against Lassiter at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Woodstock, they have already played their next matchup, an 83-62 loss against Marietta on the 13th.
