Basketball Game Preview: Omaha Westside Warriors vs. Papillion-LaVista South Titans

The Omaha Westside Warriors will square off against the Papillion-LaVista South Titans at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Omaha Westside sitting on nine straight victories and Papillion-LaVista South on five.

Omaha Westside is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Nebraska's top teams: Creighton Prep, who was ranked 13th at the time (Omaha Westside was ranked second). Omaha Westside came out on top in a nail-biter against Creighton Prep on Tuesday, sneaking past 63-61.

It was another big night for Emre Gedik, who went 8 for 14 on his way to 20 points in addition to five boards and three steals. His afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of London Dada, who posted 11 points.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Papillion-LaVista South beat Millard South 65-59 on Tuesday.

Omaha Westside's win bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Papillion-LaVista South, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1.

Omaha Westside beat Papillion-LaVista South 51-44 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Will Omaha Westside repeat their success, or does Papillion-LaVista South have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
