Baseball Recap: Lewisburg Drops Highest Score of Season Against Horn Lake

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lewisburg). Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Horn Lake Eagles a 15-0 shutout on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won nine in a row.

Brady Rodgers looked comfortable as he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Caden Nelson was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Hendrichovsky, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Lewisburg kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Lewisburg's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Horn Lake, they moved to 5-2 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lewisburg will take on Center Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Center Hill will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for Horn Lake, they will square off against Potts Camp at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Potts Camp has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.13 runs per game on average), something Horn Lake will no doubt try to take advantage of.
