Recap: Skyline Raiders vs. Westlake Warriors

Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 15 more assists than your opponent, a fact the Skyline Raiders proved on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Westlake 75-44 on the road. The win made it back-to-back wins for Skyline.

It was another big night for Lily Brown, who scored 22 points along with eight steals and seven assists. Tamya Whitemon was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.

Westlake's loss came despite strong showings from Mathis Dritz and Taylor Swanson. Dritz dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds, while Swanson scored 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Dritz scored a full 47.7% of Westlake's points, the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Skyline's victory bumped their record up to 12-10. As for Westlake, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6.

Skyline won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Lynwood at 10:30 a.m. on December 30, 2023. Hopefully Lynwood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight on Friday. Westlake will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Agoura at 7:00 p.m. on January 8th. Agoura is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home.
