Football Recap: Battle Creek Takes a Loss

After flying high against Montgomery Central two weeks ago, Battle Creek came back down to earth. The Grizzlies took a blow against the Spring Hill Raiders on Friday, falling 35-0.

Colten Barba threw for 125 yards on 12 of 20 attempts. Stanley Williams Jr was his top target, picking up 52 receiving yards. On the ground, J'Shean Brown rushed for 37 yards.

Lionel Brooks produced another solid performance rushing for 255 yards and four TDs while picking up 13.4 yards per carry for Spring Hill. Those 255 rushing yards gave Brooks a new career-high. Kasen White helped out on the ground, rushing for 95 yards.

Battle Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Spring Hill, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-4 record this season.

Battle Creek will be playing at home against Glencliff at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Spring Hill, they will head out to challenge Marshall County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups.
