Softball Recap: Garrard County Takes a Loss

If Garrard County was feeling good fresh off their 11-1 takedown of Model on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Golden Lions came up short against the Whitley County Colonels on Saturday, falling 10-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Golden Lions of the 8-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Garrard County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jazlyn Shelton, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Zoe Jordon was another, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run.

Garrard County has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season. As for Whitley County, they moved to 8-20 with that victory, which also ended their 13-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Garrard County will face off against Casey County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Whitley County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Barbourville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
