Baseball Game Preview: Hoover Tornados vs. Glendale Dynamiters

Hoover hasn't had much luck against Glendale recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Tornados will challenge the Dynamiters at 3:45 p.m. The two teams are out to turn their luck around after having lost tight contests in their previous games.

On Monday, Hoover didn't have quite enough to beat Whittier and fell 5-3. That's two games in a row now that the Tornados have lost by exactly two runs.

Hoover got a good showing from Ike Johnson, who pitched three innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs but no hits. Johnson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Hoover saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Isaiah Magana, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Alex Weimar was another, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Glendale didn't have quite enough to beat Bosco Tech on Saturday and fell 6-4.

Hoover's defeat dropped their record down to 6-16-1. As for Glendale, their loss dropped their record down to 2-21.

Hoover might still be hurting after the 10-2 defeat they got from Glendale when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Can the Tornados avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
