Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of Aj Jardine and Boaz Van Roekel Lead Cornerstone Christian Academy to Victory

Cornerstone Christian Academy's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 50-38 win over the Texoma Christian Eagles. The Warriors' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

A big part of Cornerstone Christian Academy's victory came down to the chemistry between Boaz Van Roekel and his top target Aj Jardine. Van Roekel rushed for 112 yards and one score while Jardine picked up 69 receiving yards and one TD. Van Roekel also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, picking up a sack, making nine total tackles, and defending two passes in addition to snagging an interception.

Cornerstone Christian Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Ben Glushko, Van Roekel, and Austin Freear picked up one apiece.

The win got Cornerstone Christian Academy back to even at 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cornerstone Christian Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Non Varsity Opponent at 7:30 p.m. on October 2. As for Texoma Christian, they will venture away from home to face off against Grayson Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Grayson Christian's defense has only allowed 11 points per game this season, so Texoma Christian's offense will have their work cut out for them.
