There's no place like home for Lexington Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 20-1 margin over the Paul Laurence Dunbar Bulldogs on Monday. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by ten runs or more this season.

MacKenzie Waits made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Madison Wertzler and Sophia Gorshak did most of the damage at the plate: Wertzler fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-5, while Gorshak went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two triples, and three RBI. Those two home runs gave Wertzler a new career-high. Lucy Gordon was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.

Lexington Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 20 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Lexington Christian's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-8-1. As for Paul Laurence Dunbar, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 14 of their last 17 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-21 record this season.
