Baseball Preview: Burlington Township Falcons vs. Bordentown Scotties

The Burlington Township Falcons are on the road again on Monday to play the Bordentown Scotties at 4:00 p.m. Neither Burlington Township nor Bordentown posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Last Thursday, Burlington Township came up short against Shawnee and fell 6-2.

Meanwhile, Bordentown got themselves on the board against Hamilton on Thursday, but Hamilton never followed suit. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over the Hornets. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Bordentown.

The result came thanks to Andrew Forster's shutout, as he gave up just four hits.

At the plate, Bordentown saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Grilletto, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Burlington Township has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-5 record this season. As for Bordentown, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season.
