Basketball Recap: Tri-County Comes Up Short

Tri-County lost against Grundy County/Newtown-Harris back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Tri-County Mustangs fell 44-37 to the Grundy County/Newtown-Harris Panthers. That's two games in a row now that the Mustangs have lost by exactly seven points.

It was another big night for Kinsley Allnutt, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten rebounds for Grundy County/Newtown-Harris. The matchup was Allnutt's fourth in a row with at least 18 points. Leeseah Fordyce was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to five boards and five steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Tri-County and nudges their season record down to 7-7. As for Grundy County/Newtown-Harris, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-8.

While Tri-County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on February 18th.
