Volleyball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Burlington's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

The home team had won the previous six meetings between Burlington and Wray, and Burlington kept the tradition alive. The Cougars came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Eagles back in September, they had to take a 3-1 loss.

Burlington was especially dominant in the first set. The final score came out to 25-8, 25-17, 14-25, 25-16.

Lynzee Neal paced Burlington's offense, picking up 21 kills. Neal got some help from Rayvonn Holmes and her 26 assists. Shayd Skarphol and Briar Simpson kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Burlington has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. As for Wray, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-13.

Looking ahead, Burlington will take on Lone Star at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Wray, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Brush at 10:00 a.m. on the 18th.
