Basketball Game Preview: Blytheville Chickasaws vs. Westside Warriors

Blytheville hasn't had much luck against Westside recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Blytheville Chickasaws will venture away from home to square off against the Westside Warriors at 7:00 p.m. Blytheville is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Last Saturday, Blytheville rang in the new year with a 50-39 win over Osceola. Given the Chickasaws' advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 94th, while the Seminoles are ranked 230th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Westside was not able to break out of their rough patch last Sunday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 60-40 to Brookland.

Blytheville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.6 points per game. As for Westside, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Blytheville suffered a grim 56-36 defeat to Westside when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Blytheville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
