Softball Recap: Lago Vista Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Victory

Lago Vista waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. They put the hurt on Manor New Tech with a sharp 12-1 win. Considering the Vikings have won nine contests by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Winter Callahan made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-5.

In other batting news, Sabrina Phillips was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-5. Another player making a difference was Mikayla Vasquez, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4.

Lago Vista now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Manor New Tech, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 6-4-1 record.

Coincidentally, Lago Vista and Manor New Tech will both be playing Austin Achieve the next time they take the field. Manor New Tech will host Austin Achieve at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Lago Vista will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
