Basketball Recap: DeMatha Stags vs. Our Lady of Good Counsel Falcons
The DeMatha Stags pushed their score all the way to 63 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 64-63 to Our Lady of Good Counsel. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Wednesday (57), DeMatha still had to take the loss.
DeMatha's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jacob Wallace, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds, and Malcolm Thomas who scored 22 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thomas has scored all season. Cole Bowser was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with two steals.
DeMatha are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-8. As for Our Lady of Good Counsel, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-19.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. DeMatha will take on the Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Our Lady of Good Counsel, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th.
