Basketball Recap: Our Lady of the Sun Academy Takes a Loss

Our Lady of the Sun Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were beaten by the Wickenburg Christian Academy Lion 84-47. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the Angels this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 65-34 back in December of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wickenburg Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Calden Dickinson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 boards. Those 11 rebounds gave Dickinson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Evan Gustin, who went 5 of 9 en route to 15 points and five rebounds.

Our Lady of the Sun Academy now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Wickenburg Christian Academy, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Jefferson Prep the next time they take the court. Our Lady of the Sun Academy will head out to face Jefferson Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, while Wickenburg Christian Academy will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
