Mount Si and Newport - Bellevue are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2018, but likely not for long. Mount Si will host Newport - Bellevue at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.
Mount Si was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Inglemoor on Monday. Mount Si was the clear victor by a 10-2 margin over Inglemoor. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Jenna Nowak made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Nowak was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.
In other pitching news, Mary Salmon tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over 4.2 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Anna Braukus, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Ally Hetzel was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI.
Mount Si lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Newport - Bellevue never let their opponents score on Monday. They blew past Bellevue 24-0. The game was the first time the Knights have beaten the Wolverines on their field since March 12, 2019.
Grace Wang was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, she gave up only two walks, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Emma Chen was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, eight RBI, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Lauren Blank, who went 2-for-3 with four runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Mount Si now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Newport - Bellevue, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Mount Si hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Newport - Bellevue struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
