Soccer Game Preview: Tempe vs. Coronado

The Tempe Buffaloes will venture away from home to face off against the Coronado Dons at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Tempe has six straight wins, Coronado has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

On Monday, Tempe narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Cortez 3-2.

Meanwhile, Coronado lost 4-1 to Yuma on Monday.

Tempe has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 33 goals over those nine contests. As for Coronado, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10-1.

Tempe beat Coronado by a goal when the teams last played back in January of 2024, winning 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tempe since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
