Baseball Recap: Arroyo Valley Starts off Right with Win over San Gorgonio

Arroyo Valley gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They never let the San Gorgonio Spartans onto the board and left with a 4-0 win. This was payback for the Hawks, who suffered an 8-3 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Jake Jimenez made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he also posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Michael Rosas, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Looking ahead, Arroyo Valley will challenge Miller at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for San Gorgonio, they will welcome Notre Dame at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
