Foxcroft couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They suffered a tough 28-1 defeat at the hands of the Fairfax HomeSchool Hawks on Friday.
Foxcroft saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Marley Frederick, who went 2-for-2 with two triples and a run.
On Fairfax HomeSchool's side, Kiara Cruz was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.
