 Foxcroft couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They suffered a  tough 28-1 defeat at the hands of the Fairfax HomeSchool Hawks  on Friday.
 Foxcroft saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Marley Frederick, who  went 2-for-2 with two  triples and a  run.
 On Fairfax HomeSchool's side,  Kiara Cruz was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out seven batters over  four innings while giving up just one earned run off   three  hits. Cruz was even better at the plate,  scoring four  runs and  stealing three bases while  getting on base  in all five of her plate appearances.
 In other batting news,  Sadie Haas was  incredible,  getting on base  in all five of her plate appearances with a  home run, six  stolen bases,  and six  RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of  Nicoletta Gareau, who  got on base  in four of her five plate appearances with a  home run, three  runs,  and four  RBI.
 The  win  made it two in a row for Fairfax HomeSchool and  bumps their season record up to 2-0.
 Foxcroft will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Quantico at 4:00  p.m.  on April 4th. As for Fairfax HomeSchool, they will have some time to savor their  victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Seton at 6:00  p.m.  on April 23rd.
