Football Recap: Warren Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Warren unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Greenbrier Panthers on Friday, falling 57-32. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Lumberjacks of the 41-34 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Enoch Assan was nothing short of spectacular for Greenbrier: he rushed for 313 yards and six scores while picking up 9.5 yards per carry, and also picked up 61 receiving yards and one TD. Those 313 rushing yards gave Assan a new career-high. Jack Palmer also helped with two touchdowns in total.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Warren is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will challenge White Hall at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Greenbrier, they will venture away from home to face off against Russellville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
