The Allen Mustangs and the Putnam City North Panthers will round out the year against one another at at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Putnam City North is hoping to do what Wynnewood couldn't on Thursday: put an end to Allen's winning streak, which now stands at four games. Allen really took it to Wynnewood for the full four quarters, racking up a 78-22 victory. With the Mustangs ahead 48-11 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Allen's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaylee Davis, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc on her way to 26 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. With that strong performance, Davis is now averaging an impressive 16 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Prentice, who went 5 of 12 on her way to 12 points in addition to eight steals and five assists.
Allen was working as a unit and finished the game with 24 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January.
Meanwhile, Putnam City North hadn't done well against Choctaw recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Putnam City North simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Choctaw 62-35. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.
Allen better focus on containing Brandie Harrod and Kiana Gray as the pair were huge in Putnam City North's win. Harrod dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 boards, while Gray posted 13 points and four steals. Harrod has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more boards the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Nykaiya Dillard, who put up eight points and three steals.
Allen pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.2 points per game. As for Putnam City North, their win bumped their record up to 11-1.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Allen and Putnam City North are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Allen hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 66 points per game. However, it's not like Putnam City North struggles in that department as they've been averaging 66.9 points.
