Softball Recap: Perrydale Pirates vs. Knappa Loggers
If Perrydale was riding high off their 13-3 takedown of Vernonia back in March, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Perrydale Pirates wound up on the wrong side of a tough 18-3 walloping at the hands of the Knappa Loggers in Friday's first game. Perrydale was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Knappa apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2022.
For Knappa's part, Kiya Roe was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two doubles, and a stolen base. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Rusinovich, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Having lost for the first time this season, Perrydale fell to 2-1. As for Knappa, they pushed their record up to 4-1 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: they beat Perrydale by a score of 19-0 later that day.
