Volleyball Recap: Grafton Gators vs. Wachusett Regional Mountaineers
Grafton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Wachusett Regional Mountaineers, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mountaineers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.
Grafton took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-6, 25-16, 25-19.
Wachusett Regional's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grace Coppolino, who had 15 assists. Another player making a difference was Julia Vettese, who had six digs and three aces.
Grafton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Wachusett Regional, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-3.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Grafton will challenge rival Shrewsbury at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Wachusett Regional is set to face off against their familiar foe Algonquin Regional at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday.
