Baseball Game Preview: Newark Tech Terries vs. East Orange Campus Jaguars

The Newark Tech Terries will take on the East Orange Campus Jaguars at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Newark Tech will be strutting in after a win while East Orange Campus will be coming in after a defeat.

Newark Tech is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Golda Och Academy on Thursday as they made off with a 24-1 victory. Considering the Terries have won five games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

East Side hit East Orange Campus with a five-run third inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Jaguars came up short against the Red Raiders, falling 13-3. The Jaguars have struggled against the Red Raiders recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

East Orange Campus saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adrian Guevara, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that Guevara has hit this season.

Newark Tech is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for East Orange Campus, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Newark Tech took their victory against East Orange Campus when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 19-3 score. Will the Terries repeat their success, or do the Jaguars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
