Volleyball Recap: Licking Heights Hornets vs. Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets
Licking Heights won the last time they faced Mt. Vernon and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Hornets came out on top in a nail-biter against the Yellowjackets, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Hornets have posted since October 23, 2024.
If you add up the scores from across all five sets (106-104) Licking Heights actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 17-25, 21-25, 25-20, 25-22, 16-14.
Abrianna Fenton was the offensive standout of the match as she had ten digs and two aces.

Licking Heights' win ended a four-match drought on the road and puts them at 10-10. As for Mt. Vernon, they dropped their record down to 5-14 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.
