Game recap: Sandberg's arms and legs help Manatee past Southeast

Cord Sandberg threw two touchdowns and ran for two more as Manatee (Bradenton, Fla.) defeated Southeast (Bradenton, Fla.) 52-13 on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a Sandberg touchdown run in the first quarter, the Hurricanes led 38-6 at the half.

Both teams scored seven points in the third quarter, so the margin remained at 32 entering the fourth.

Trevon Walters and Sandberg ran for a bunch of touchdowns for the Seminoles.

Southeast's Courtney Allen played well. He ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored seven touchdowns on the season.



A 48-6 Manatee victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.

The defeat comes as a step back for Southeast, which notched a 34-31 victory over Sarasota in its previous outing. The loss snapped SHS's 3-game winning streak. With the win MHS extended its winning streak to four games.

In a 5A District 10 game next week Southeast (3-2) takes on DeSoto County, and Manatee (4-0) will go up against Braden River in a 7A District 10 game.
