Recap: Cole Cougars vs. Nixon-Smiley Mustangs
Make it 11 blowout wins for the Cole Cougars this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Nixon-Smiley 89-58 on the road. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 51-19.
It was another big night for Logan Beckstrom, who went 11 for 18 from beyond the arc en route to 41 points and 3 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of James Livingston, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 assists.
Cole is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a massive bump to their 19-9 record this season. As for Nixon-Smiley, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-11.
Cole will look to defend their home court on Friday against Randolph at 7:30 p.m. Randolph will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1142nd, while Cole is ranked 285th). As for Nixon-Smiley, they will head out on the road to face off against Great Hearts Northern Oaks at 8:15 p.m. on Friday. Great Hearts Northern Oaks will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
