Volleyball Recap: Royce Garcia Key Part of Team Effort in Mustangs Win

Otay Ranch won the last time they faced Olympian and things went their way on Thursday too. The Mustangs walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Eagles.

Otay Ranch walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-16, 19-25, 25-23.

Otay Ranch got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Royce Garcia out in front who had 23 assists and four aces. That's the most assists Garcia has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Gavin Cosico, who had 20 digs.

Otay Ranch's win bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Olympian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last 11 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-23 record this season.

Otay Ranch will head out to challenge Orange Glen at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Olympian, they are taking a road trip to take on Eastlake at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
