Baseball Recap: Hilliard Takes a Loss

Hilliard was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Bradford Tornadoes, falling 10-2. The Red Flashes were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tornadoes apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Hilliard saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Cooper, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Christian Ashley also deserves some recognition as he stole his first stolen base of the season.

Hilliard's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Bradford, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Coming up, Hilliard will venture away from home to take on Baker County at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bradford, they will host Parker at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Parker's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Bradford's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
