Football Recap: Dougherty Valley Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Dougherty Valley had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They had to suffer through a 41-0 loss at the hands of the College Park Falcons. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.

Ethan Havens had an outrageously good game for College Park as he rushed for 53 yards and two scores on only five carries, and also threw for 164 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Akeem Smith also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.

Looking ahead, Dougherty Valley will welcome San Leandro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for College Park, they will venture away from home to take on Clayton Valley Charter at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
