Baseball Recap: Waterville Takes a Loss

After flying high against Hall-Dale on Wednesday, Waterville came back down to earth. The Panthers took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Belfast Lions on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 11-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Waterville saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Garrett Gendreau, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Waterville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Belfast, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Waterville will face off against rival Oceanside at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Belfast is set to square off against their familiar foe Winslow at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
