Basketball Recap: Buffalo Takes a Loss

Buffalo easily dispatched Clay County last Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Buffalo Bison fell just short of the Ravenswood Red Devils by a score of 60-57 on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bison this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 54-41 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Buffalo saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Asher Flanery went 10 for 19 on his way to 21 points and seven assists. The matchup was Flanery's fourth in a row with at least 15 points. Wesley Mallett was another key player, going 6 of 9 to rack up 15 points.

Buffalo's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Ravenswood, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Buffalo didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 65-51 loss against Charleston Catholic on the 31st. As for Ravenswood, they have also already played their next matchup, a 63-31 victory against St. Marys on the 1st.
