Softball Recap: Southaven Comes Up Short

Southaven was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against Oxford, falling 7-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Southaven of the 9-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Southaven's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Oxford, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-7 record this season.

Southaven will face off against Grenada at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Oxford, they will be taking part in a tournament against St. Benedict at Auburndale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
