Football Game Preview: Bandys Trojans vs. Stuart W. Cramer Storm

Two dominant signal callers in Brady Swett and Clee Phillips are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Bandys Trojans will head out on the road to face off against the Stuart W. Cramer Storm at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Bandys is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They really took it to South Rowan for the full four quarters, racking up a 71-14 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Trojans' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 106th, while the Raiders are ranked 339th).

Meanwhile, Stuart W. Cramer waltzed into their matchup two weeks ago with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 30-7 win. The Storm pushed the score to 27-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Warriors cut but never quite recovered from.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Dominick McCorkle and Brayden Fortenberry. McCorkle rushed for 83 yards and one TD while Fortenberry rushed for 61 yards and one touchdown on only six carries. An impressive showing, but Fortenberry really ramped things up playing D: he picked up two sacks and made ten total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Stuart W. Cramer was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 285 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 168 rushing yards in four consecutive contests.

One reason for the win was Stuart W. Cramer's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. In that department, Fortenberry was the leader with two.

Stuart W. Cramer's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Bandys, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
