Volleyball Recap: Alcorn Central Takes a Loss

Alcorn Central was the 3-0 winner over Saltillo when they last played one another back in August of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Bears lost 3-0 to the Tigers on Tuesday. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Alcorn Central was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Saltillo's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-22, 26-24.

Mylee Davis paced Alcorn Central's offense, picking up nine kills. Davis got some help from Addison Lutz and her 12 assists. Lutz also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Dinah Lancaster, racking up two apiece.

Alcorn Central now has a losing record of 3-4.

Looking ahead, Alcorn Central will face off against McNairy Central at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Saltillo, they are headed away from home for the first time to square off against Pontotoc at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
