Basketball Recap: Khriztian Vazquez Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Candlelight Christian Academy

Excel Christian Academy Blue won the last time they faced Candlelight Christian Academy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Excel Christian Academy Blue Spartans strolled past the Candlelight Christian Academy Flames with points to spare, taking the game 65-49.

Excel Christian Academy Blue's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Khriztian Vazquez, who posted 23 points. Another player making a difference was William Medina, who earned 18 points.

Several Flames players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ronald Padilla-Cordero, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and 11 boards. Candlelight Christian Academy is 3-1 when Padilla-Cordero posts ten or more rebounds, but 1-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriel Coste, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 18 boards.

Excel Christian Academy Blue's win bumped their record up to 10-4. As for Candlelight Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Excel Christian Academy Blue has already played their next game, a 71-70 victory against Families Instructing Students HomeSchool on the 21st. Candlelight Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
