Baseball Recap: St. Peter's Eagles vs. Salesian Eagles
St. Peter had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Salesian a 13-0 shutout. St. Peter's might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by seven runs or more this season.
Louis Demontreux looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Anthony Macaluso was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024. Salvatore Fragiglio was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
St. Peter's was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Salesian only posted a batting average of .227.
